It has been a while since you have heard from us. Thanks to you, we have been too busy to stay on top of this newsletter thing! Here is an update on some of the projects that have been keeping us active.
The spot Walking was produced by Cramer Krasselt for the Milwaukee Police Department. We collaborated with Square Joint on the entire commercial campaign which was featured in ARCHIVE earlier this year.

Independent has been on the forefront of developing post workflows for emerging formats, including the two examples below that were acquired on the Canon 5D.

Canon

Canon Asia tapped Director Michael Graf of Spot Filmworks to produce a short film showcasing the features of its 5D Mark II HDSLR camera. Michael brought Independent on board for color grading and finishing. A Day In Hue offers a portrait of everyday life in Vietnam. Footage was shot using only available light in day and night conditions with a variety of prime lenses. Rob Due helped optimize these gorgeous images using our color grading suite. The music in the film is an original score by Peter Batchelder.

Kwik Trip

Sparks (Toronto) director Sylvain Dumais used the Canon 5D to capture time lapse footage for the Kwik Trip spot Top Tier for Hiebing. Rob Due edited and provided color grading, John Fischer completed the visual effects, Peter Batchelder composed original music, and Steve Kultgen mixed.


Powerflex Culvers West bend
Independent animated the spot Battleship for Bader Rutter's client Powerflex. The spot featured a battleship cruising through a wheat field. Peter Batchelder composed original music to complement Randy Bobo's sound design.
Kevin Klimek edited the Culver's spot Thanks Mom for Hiebing and production company A Common Thread (LA). Rob Due color graded the flashback portion of the spot to evoke a nostalgic 1960's look.
Independent Studios has been busy all year editing and mixing for the Yes Men's West Bend Mutual Insurance and ProHealth Care campaigns. Here is one of the spots titled Christmas Condo.

We recorded voiceovers for Cramer Krasselt Chicago's new Porsche campaign. Howard Overshown was the voice talent.
 City of The Dawn
The Chris Buhrman documentary, "City of the Dawn" that Jerry Riedel cut last year has been out on the festival circuit. We created ViewMaster style photo animations for the historical segments of the film. Click here for an example.
